About Us

At Burlington High School, Book Club has been participated in for four years. Diane Marshall, the library media specialist for the high school and middle school is the sponsor this year. Many of the seniors that are participating in the club have read a whole book in a night before. Chance McGuire, now graduated, has actually written his own books and had them published. The members that participate in Book Club are dedicated to experiencing books that are good reads.

The club meets once a month at 7:30 in the library. Members don’t have to read the selection for every month. They can choose each month to join in or not based on whether or not they are interested in the book. They can also take a break if their schedule is too full. The books this year represent a multitude of different genres, but all are fiction. There are no dues, and Mrs. Marshall usually provides breakfast of some kind. If you like to read, then Book Club is the place for you!
